The difficulty level of the hike through the valley of flowers varies from simple to strenuous. The journey from Govind Ghat to Ghangariya, as well as the trip from Ghangariya to the Valley of Flowers and the trek to Hemkund Sahib, are all well-defined man-made trails, which makes the trek reasonably straightforward.
It is recommended that you go on the Valley of Flowers Trek between the months of June and September. During these months, you will be able to witness 520 different kinds of high-altitude plants, including angiosperms, gymnosperms, and pteridophytes; of these, 498 are blooming plants.
After you have registered for the hike, we will send you an email with a thorough checklist of all the important goods and pieces of equipment that you will need to bring along with you on the hike.
The person in charge of leading our walk or acting as captain will have a first aid kit with them. We strongly suggest that you bring your own medication with you on the walk through the Valley of Flowers, and that you discuss with your physician any necessary medications that you must take.
Since we do not permit the use of plastic on our hikes, we do not provide anything made of plastic—not even plastic bags, drinks, or lunch boxes—to our guests. During the hike, you will need to use your own lunch box, water bottle, and silverware, therefore you will need to bring those items with you.
The Valley of Flowers National Park is located in India and was designated as a national park in the year 1982. It is notable for its meadows of indigenous alpine flowers and the diversity of flora and can be found in the district of Chamoli in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
There are 520 different kinds of high altitude plants that may be found in the Valley of Flowers. These plants include angiosperms, gymnosperms, and pteridophytes. Of these plants, 498 are blooming plants.
The Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand is a paradise for amateur and professional photographers alike due to the rich Himalayan flora that can be found there. Some of the rare medicinal plants that can be found there include Aconitum Heterophyllum, A. Falconeri, Arnebia Benthamii, Dactylorhiza Hatagirea, Gymnadenia orchids, Megacarpaea Polyandra, Picrorhiza Kurroa.
On the Valley of Flowers Trek, we should go somewhere in the neighbourhood of fifty kilometres. The hike path will be as follows: Govindghat > Ghanghariya > VOF > Ghanghariya > Hemkund Sahib > Ghanghariya > Govindghat. The entire distance of the Valley of Flowers walk would be close to 65 kilometres if you include the acclamation hike that takes place in Auli.
When you go on a trip with Indiantreks, you are provided with both porters and mules at no additional cost. For the whole of the hike, the trekker's backpack, which may be anywhere from one to sixty litres in capacity and weigh up to ten kilogrammes at most, will be carried by porters at no additional charge.
Ghangariya does not have any automated teller machine facilities accessible. At Joshimath, there are automated teller machine facilities; nevertheless, they often experience cash shortages as well. We strongly suggest that you withdraw the necessary amount either when you are already in Rishikesh or while you are going there.
Rishikesh serves as the starting and ending location for the Valley of Flowers Trek. After you leave Rishikesh, you should proceed in the direction of Joshimath. The distance from Joshimath to the valley of flowers is 21 kilometres. Auli is the starting point of the journey.
The highest point in Valley of Flowers is located at a height of 15,200 feet.
You will spend one day in Auli acclimatising to the altitude there. A walk to Gorson Bugyal serving as an acclimatisation hike will come first, followed by the main portion of the hike.
